Resize & Crop Video lets you change the dimensions and aspect ratio of any video file. You can scale to standard resolutions like 1080p, 720p, or 480p, or crop to popular aspect ratios for Instagram (1:1), TikTok (9:16), YouTube (16:9), and Twitter (4:5). All processing runs in your browser with no server uploads. Every social media platform and video destination has its own preferred aspect ratio and resolution. A video shot in landscape 16:9 looks wrong on TikTok's vertical 9:16 format. An Instagram Story requires 9:16 but an Instagram feed post works best at 1:1 or 4:5. Rather than re-shooting or using complex editing software, resizing and cropping adjusts your existing footage to fit these specifications perfectly. The tool uses two approaches: scaling changes the overall dimensions while maintaining aspect ratio by adding letterbox bars if needed; cropping removes pixels from the edges to achieve the target aspect ratio. You can combine both operations in a single pass.

Upload a video and select a target resolution preset (1080p, 720p, 480p) or enter custom dimensions. Choose a target aspect ratio from the social media presets or set a custom value. The tool shows a visual preview with overlay guides indicating how the crop will affect the frame. In crop mode, you can adjust the crop window by dragging it within the preview frame to select exactly which portion of the video to keep. The tool highlights the areas that will be removed. Once configured, it re-encodes the video with the new dimensions using FFmpeg in your browser and provides the resized file for download.

A single video often needs to be distributed across multiple platforms, each with different dimension requirements. A product demo recorded in 16:9 needs a square crop for Instagram, a vertical crop for TikTok, and a 16:9 version for YouTube.
